Lighten your load while traveling with the Oceanic Islander II BCD.

Weighing in at just 6 pounds, the Oceanic Islander II is the favorite in the fight on heavy clunky luggage while traveling. The back-inflate BCD has an integrated weight system that can accommodate up to 14 pounds of weight and comes with 2 non-ditchable tank strap weight pockets that can hold up to 5 pounds each. The Oceanic Islander II was designed with the traveler, like you in mind. The back inflate makes the whole unit streamlined with no chest squeeze that can occur with wrap-around units. With 16 points of attachment carrying the necessities a diver needs and even some that they don't is no problem.

The Oceanic GT3 regulator 2nd stage is paired with the CDX5 Diaphragm style first stage. The Adjustment knob on the Oceanic GT3 second stage is a set and forget feature which allows you to set the breathing how you want it to be. This is due to Oceanics' patented Dynamic Adjust which is designed to allow the user control over the inhalation effort. Once adjusted the inhalation effort remains the same regardless of depth. The Diaphragm styling of the CDX5 frst stage is suitable for warm and colder water diving. The CDX5 comes standard with the enviro kit.

Your buddy will appreciate the fact that your regulator has an alternate air source and the one that is included is this package features the Oceanic Alpha 8 second stage. If that sounds familiar then it is because it is the same second stage that is included in the Islander II basic system package. The difference is that it is tuned a little tighter than the second stage from which you will be breathing to ensure minimal chance for free-flowing problems.

The dive computer originally chosen for this system is that it is a basic air only dive computer, the Oceanic Veo 100. There are no extra bells or whistles on the Oceanic Veo 100 but excellent for entry level scuba. The reason for choosing a dive computer over standard analog gauges is the accuracy of the computer. You don't have to crack open your open water manual and relearn out how to work the dive tables, the computer does it for you. All of the information is carefully arranged with easy to read LCD digits, bar graphs and icons that are intuitive. The Oceanic Veo 100 has a built in 12 dive log mode which allows you to scroll through at your convenience when you transfer the information to your log book. There are visual alarms and the computer is housed in the popular swiv console housing with an analog submersible pressure gauge (SPG) to monitor your air supply. The SPG is easy to read and the luminescent material used for the face of the gauge which glows 7 times brighter than other glow in the dark materials. The swiv console does allow for the addition of an Oceanic Swiv Compass in Northern or Southern hemisphere modules with the same luminescent materials used in all of Oceanic's analog gauges (not included but upgraded available).
