Divers are renting more on vacation which means they may not be familiar with the gear which can be unsafe. Divers who scuba dive with their own personal gear are more comfortable and the main reason is that they know the mechanics of the equipment. Oceanic has been listening, and they created the new Biolite BCD. The Oceanic Biolite BCD is the perfect traveling BC. The entire BCD weights a total of 5.5 pounds. This is almost half of the weight of many of the conventional BCDs on the market today. Oceanic did this without sacrificing the comfort.
Features of the Oceanic Biolite Travel BCD include a right shoulder caribiner positioning system, a self-adjusting sternum strap with adjustable squeeze clip waist and shoulder straps. The dual integrated quick drop weight release system can accommodate up to 7 pounds per pocket and there are two additional non-drop trim pockets that can hold up to 5 pounds of weight per pocket. The low profile air bladder uses the patented Bioflex material which allows for 32 pounds of lift for sizes extra small through medium and 38 pounds of lift for sizes large and extra large. One of the best features of the Oceanic Biolite BCD is that the low profile backpack allow the BC to be folded in half to take up less room in your luggage.
