THE OCEANIC OC1 DIVE COMPUTER, DIGITAL COMPASS USE - VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
The Oceanic OC1 is an advanced, all-in-one dive computer featuring Oceanic's exclusive dual-algorithm, wireless air integration, digital compass, remote buddy pressure check and so much more, all in a strong, lightweight titanium housing. eDiving is a scuba diving simulator featuring the advanced Oceanic OC1 dive computer.
To control the Oceanic OC1 Dive Computer while eDiving, press 1 for the Mode button. Press 2 for the Advance button and press 3 for the Select button. Press Z to maximize the OC1. Press and hold key 3 for the Select button to enter Compass mode.
You must first calibrate the compass. Press key 1 for the Mode button and key 3 to select calibration. Press key 3 again to begin the calibration. Now rotate 360 degrees and press 3 to confirm the calibration.
We'll now set the declination for Avalon Park, which is 12 degrees east. Press 1 for the Mode menu and 2 to scroll to declination, 3 to select. Press 2 to scroll to declination east and 3 to select. Press 2 until you reach 12 degrees and 3 to set.
Let's descend and find the swim platform. I'll bring up the map to get the correct heading. The swim platform is at a heading of 316 degrees. There it is.
Now let's set a reference heading to the buoy straight out. Press 1 for the Mode menu, 2 to scroll to reference and 3 to select it. Now rotate to the heading you want and press 3 to set the heading.
We'll descend and follow the heading to [wrecks] below. While in compass mode, press 2 to invert your heading and 3 to confirm. You can now see the reference point has inverted. The heading brought us right back to the stairs where we started.
